Ibiza differently: a spiritual itinerary off the beaten path
Ibiza often evokes clubs and electrifying nights. Yet the island holds a powerful spiritual heritage. Here is a three‑day itinerary to explore its sacred face, perfect for extending the experience of a Mandala Project retreat.
Day 1: Es Vedrà and Cala d’Hort
Begin your stay with a meditative walk to Torre des Savinar. Arrive before dawn, roll out your mat, and let the sun rise behind Es Vedrà. After practice, head down to Cala d’Hort for a sea swim followed by a plant‑based breakfast at La Paloma. In the afternoon, visit the village of Sant Joan and its holistic artisans. End with a sound bath at “The Garden of Light” center in the hills.
Day 2: Formentera and a bohemian market
Take an early ferry to Formentera, rent a bike, and ride to Migjorn beach. Practice a gentle flow then plunge into turquoise water. Back in Ibiza, head to the Las Dalias hippie market to find shamanic instruments and artisan jewelry. Watch the sunset at Benirràs beach, guided by the drums that set the evening’s rhythm.
Day 3: Natural temples
Visit the Ibiza salt flats at sunrise, then walk through the Sa Talaia forest for a nature bath. Have lunch at Wild Beets (Santa Gertrudis) for living cuisine. In the afternoon, treat yourself to an Ayurvedic treatment at Can Curreu. Close with a fire ceremony on Aguas Blancas beach: write your intentions, burn them, and entrust them to the sea.
With this itinerary, Ibiza becomes a land of reconnection and poetry. Walk slowly, listen to the wind in the pines, breathe the sea. The island will reveal what you came to seek.
