Sound healing 101: sound journey, Tibetan bowls, and deep relaxation
Sound healing is one of Mandala Project’s signatures. Our sound baths combine planetary gongs, Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, handpan, and voice. They complement yoga, breathwork, and meditation practices. Here’s how we design them and how to benefit from them.
The instruments
We use gongs tuned to planetary frequencies (Earth, Moon, Sun) that act like powerful waves. Crystal bowls target chakras, Tibetan bowls massage the body through bone conduction. The handpan brings a hypnotic melody, while the voice guides intentions. Each instrument is chosen for its rich harmonics and its ability to induce an altered state of consciousness.
Flow of a Mandala sound bath
Participants lie down in savasana, wrapped in blankets. We begin with coherent breathing to synchronize the group, then the session evolves: deep gongs, crystalline bowls, Koshi chimes, vibrational chanting. The duration ranges between 40 and 60 minutes. At the end, we leave complete silence to allow integration.
Observed benefits
Sound healing promotes muscle relaxation, reduces cortisol, and stimulates dopamine release. Many feel tingling, a floating sensation, or colorful visions. Some old emotions surface and then release. We encourage welcoming whatever arises without judgment.
Tips to extend the effect
- Drink plenty of water after the session to help the body release energetic toxins.
- Write your sensations in a journal to capture insights.
- Limit screens and noisy conversations for a few hours.
- Practice mini sound baths at home using a bowl or recordings.
Sound healing is an invitation to let the vibrations do the work. There is no need to “do” — simply listen and be carried. Let the sounds awaken what is sleeping within you.
